About

Bev McNaughton is an artist based in Ontario, with a Master's degree in Visual Arts from the University of Saskatchewan. Specializing in pottery, they blend traditional techniques with a deep appreciation for the natural world, often incorporating botanical and landscape imagery into their work. Alongside their studio practice, Bev McNaughton teaches pottery and leads workshops, sharing their passion for clay and creativity with the community.

‘My artistic practice has evolved from mixed media installations exploring the body politic to a deep engagement with clay as both medium and metaphor. Early works often employed stitching and textiles, referencing the historical positioning of women's labour within the art world and society. These themes continue to resonate in my ceramic work, where the surface becomes a site for both intervention and repair - painted, cut into, and sometimes stitched back together.’
